Do you ever wonder why certain people come into your life? Some are not meant to stay forever.
Whether they stay an hour, or a lifetime, people are meant to cross our path for a reason no matter if they bring a lesson or a blessing.
The other day a friend posted an essay called “A Reason, A Season, A Lifetime.” It talks about 3 different reasons why someone may come into your life. When someone is in your life for a reason, it's “usually to meet a need you have expressed or just felt,” “to assist you through a hard time.” Then, suddenly, the person disappears from your life. Your need has been met; their work is done.”
Some come into your life for a season, because “your turn has come to share or grow or give back.” “They give you great joy. Believe it; it is real. But only for a season.”
Lifetime relationships teach you lifetime lessons - things you must build upon to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all your other relationships.”
Think about the people whose lives have intersected with yours over the years. Maybe it was a friend, a co-worker, a boss, or an ex. Have you had people in your life that fit into these categories? What gifts did they bring you? Have you been that person for someone else?
Who has helped you for a reason, a season, or lifetime?
