“Canceling” can perhaps be the most effective way for people to exercise their power. How else are big corporations or people who possess power held accountable? On the other hand, when a person makes a sincere mistake, especially if it was made many years ago, should a person be canceled for their past? Should intent and remorse be factors?
Are we denying people an opportunity to learn from mistakes and grow? Are we too quick to “cast the first stone?” Should celebrities and companies be held to a higher standard?
Has cancel culture gone too far or not far enough? Is it an important tool of social justice or a modern form of mob intimidation?
Have you ever "canceled" anyone? Why?
