Have you ever been called "weird?" Have you ever called someone else weird? Never mind how it may have made you feel for now, let's think about the why for a minute.
Referring to people as weird basically means "they're not normal" or "I don't get them." It's human to want to be liked and accepted, but to what extent do we go to be accepted? How much do we sacrifice our authentic selves for that acceptance? If you constantly seek approval and feel you need it, it most likely comes from something you experienced in your childhood (more on that topic on a future Monday).
Your "weird" is your uniqueness. It's what makes you, you. It's what makes you great, or what we like to call your "Greatness." If normal means being the same as everybody else, normal is definitely not where we want to be. We prefer to be inspired by and learn from women of all sorts of different experiences, perspectives, backgrounds, and cultures.
Today's deep dive:
What things do or would other people find weird about you?
We ask you a new question every Monday, and we encourage you to take a few minutes, without distraction, and be completely honest with yourself in answering them. Our goal is to help us all reframe and incorporate our vulnerabilities towards the path of living an authentic life.
